With hurricane season rapidly approaching, I'd like to remind you that Jeff Goldberg, Walton County’s Director of Emergency Management, is hosting the annual Hurricane Preparedness Meeting for Business and Lodging Partners on Monday, May 24 at 9 a.m., via Zoom.
This is a great opportunity for you and your team to learn more about how to prepare your business and employees in the event of a storm impact to Walton County.
Discussion will include how to prepare for a hurricane, information regarding to evacuation orders and what is necessary for your employees to gain re-entry after an evacuation order is lifted, and an explanation about how evacuation decisions are made.
For those who attend the virtual meeting live, there will be opportunity for questions and answers as well. The meeting is expected to take about an hour, but more time will be allowed in order to answer as many questions as necessary.
Please make plans to attend this virtual meeting, or assign a member of your staff to attend and share the important information afterward so that we can all be as prepared as possible to quickly recover from any hurricane-related event in South Walton.
